When was the last full moon in Edmonton?
Space & NavigationEdmonton Moonwatchers: Did You Catch the Last Full Moon?
Okay, fellow sky enthusiasts, let’s talk about the moon! There’s just something magical about a full moon hanging in the night sky, isn’t there? If you’re in Edmonton and you’re anything like me, you probably try to catch every one. So, when was the last time we were treated to that glorious, fully illuminated orb?
Well, mark your calendars (or mental ones, if you’re more my style): the last full moon we saw here in Edmonton shone brightly on July 10th, 2025. I remember stepping outside that night and just being stunned by how luminous it was!
Since then, the moon’s been on its journey through the waning phases. We just passed the third quarter on July 17th, and now we’re heading towards a new moon on July 24th. That means darker skies for a bit, perfect for stargazing!
But don’t fret, moon lovers! The next full moon is already on its way. Get ready to set your alarms (or just stay up really late) for August 9th, 2025, at 1:57 AM. That’s when the moon will reach its full glory once again. Fingers crossed for clear skies!
