A precipitation data legend file can be downloaded at https://water.weather.gov/precip/archive/nws_precip_legend.avl.

How do I get temp data from NOAA?

Which one is the most reliable data source to measure precipitation?

Precipitation radar data are the most accurate space- or ground-based rain measurements.

How do you collect precipitation data?

Rainfall data generally are collected using electronic data loggers that measure the rainfall in 0.01- inch increments every 15 minutes using either a tipping-bucket rain gage or a collection well gage. Twenty- four hour rainfall totals are tabulated and presented.

  1. From the DSP homepage select “App Gallery” then “Rainfall Demonstrator”
  2. Search for stations by station ID, or enter a postcode in the search box – A list of stations will appear, select the relevant station ID (you can select more than one).

How do I download NOAA data?

Downloading weather from NOAA website



Select Weather Observation Type/Dataset and select Daily Summaries. Select Date Range using the calendar button (Be sure to get daily weather data for 365/366 days of the year). Search for and choose the appropriate search type you will be using (typically we select Stations).
