Thule Chasm 26L & Gear Cube: My New Go-To for Urban Adventures (and Dodging Puddles)
ReviewOkay, so as a travel and tech blogger, my life’s basically a gear-testing marathon. I’m always searching for that unicorn bag – the one that can handle everything from a cramped airplane seat to a muddy hiking trail. Enter the Thule Chasm 26L Backpack & 3L Gear Cube Bundle. When this baby showed up, I was genuinely excited to see if it could walk the walk.
First Impressions: Not Just Another Pretty Face
The “Pond Gray” color? Seriously classy. It’s subtle enough to take to a business meeting without looking like you’re fresh off the Appalachian Trail (even if you feel like you are some days). But the real kicker? It’s made from 100% recycled materials. You know I’m all about that! It’s awesome to see Thule upping their eco-game.
The Backpack: Mobile Office Meets Weekend Warrior
The 26L size is just right for me. I can comfortably fit my 16″ MacBook (snug as a bug in that padded sleeve, by the way), my camera, a change of clothes, and the usual tech clutter. And can we talk about that top zippered pocket? Genius! Phone, sunnies, wallet – all within easy reach when I’m sprinting through airport security or diving onto the subway.
I recently road-tested this pack on a quick trip to Portland, and honestly, it killed it. The weather-resistant fabric was a godsend when I got caught in a classic Portland downpour. Seriously, it was like the sky opened up! Plus, the internal organization kept my stuff from turning into a black hole of tangled cords. Huge win.
The Gear Cube: Organization Ninja
Okay, I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure about the 3L Gear Cube at first. Seemed a bit…extra. But now? I’m a convert. It’s become my go-to for stashing smaller essentials – toiletries, first-aid kit, even spare camera batteries. And that clippable handle? Pure brilliance. I can hook it inside the backpack or hang it up in my hotel room. So handy!
A Few Tiny Hiccups
Look, nothing’s perfect, right? The Thule Chasm bundle has a couple of minor quirks. The zipper placement can be a little fiddly sometimes, especially when you’re trying to get into the main compartment in a hurry. Also, while the internal organization is top-notch, I do wish there were a couple more external pockets for a water bottle or other quick-grab items.
The Final Word: Worth the Hype

All in all, the Thule Chasm 26L Backpack & 3L Gear Cube Bundle is a solid choice if you need a versatile, tough, and stylish bag for everyday life, travel, or even a bit of light adventuring. The eco-friendly materials, smart organization, and weather resistance make it a winner in my book. Minor nitpicks aside, it’s quickly become my everyday go-to. I’d definitely give it a thumbs up. You should check it out!
