FactsThe Champlain Valley Fair: Your Guide to Vermont’s “Ten Best Days of Summer”
Okay, folks, let’s talk about the Champlain Valley Fair! If you’re anywhere near Vermont in late August, this is one event you absolutely don’t want to miss. It’s more than just a fair; it’s a tradition, a celebration, and a whole lot of fun rolled into ten glorious days.
So, When Does the Fun Begin?
Get ready! The Champlain Valley Fair 2025 is happening from August 22nd to August 31st. That’s right, ten whole days of rides, food, music, and good old-fashioned Vermont charm.
A Little Trip Down Memory Lane
The Champlain Valley Exposition, the awesome non-profit that puts on the fair, has been around since 1922. Can you believe it? Back then, it was just a small gathering in Essex Center called the Essex Fair. But it quickly outgrew its britches! By 1923, they moved it to its current spot in Essex Junction, and it’s been growing ever since. It’s amazing to see how it’s changed over the years, but it’s always kept that focus on agriculture and bringing the community together.
What’s Cookin’ for 2025?
Trust me, you won’t be bored. The 2025 Champlain Valley Fair is pulling out all the stops.
- Get Ready to Rock: This year’s concert lineup is seriously impressive. We’re talking 38 Special & Loverboy kicking things off on August 22nd, plus Dustin Lynch, and even Lil Jon!
- For the Thrill-Seekers: If you’re a motorsports fan, buckle up! You’ve got the insane “Night of Fire & Destruction” Monster Truck Show on August 24th, Figure 8 Racing on the 27th, and the always-wild Demolition Derby on the 28th.
- Midway Mayhem: Strates Shows is back with all the classic rides and games you know and love. Get ready to test your luck and maybe win a giant stuffed animal (or two!).
- Vermont Pride on Display: Of course, it wouldn’t be the Champlain Valley Fair without a healthy dose of agriculture. Expect amazing exhibits, competitions showcasing the best of Vermont’s farms, and plenty of good old-fashioned farm fun.
- And That’s Not All! Keep an eye out for the Live Shark Exhibit (yes, really!), racing pigs (they’re surprisingly fast!), live music all over the grounds, and the mind-blowing Flying Cortes.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind for 2025
- New Hours! Starting this year, the fair opens at noon (12:00 PM) Monday through Friday. The midway fires up a bit later, at 2:00 PM.
- Parking Deets: General parking is available right at the fairgrounds for a fee. If you need handicap parking, head to the Red Gate – just make sure you have your official permit handy.
Seriously, the Champlain Valley Fair is a Vermont institution for a reason. It’s a chance to celebrate our community, enjoy some amazing entertainment, and make memories that will last a lifetime. So, mark your calendars, grab your friends and family, and get ready for the “Ten Best Days of Summer!” You won’t regret it.
