Different colours are used to represent land use on a map. Agricultural land use is represented with Yellow colour. While blue is used for commercial, red is for residential and green is used for forest lands.
What is the colour code for land?
The different colors used are yellow for residential land, red for public utility land, green to mark agricultural or forest land, dark blue indicates retail zones, light blue indicates commercial zones, and purple indicates industrial zones.
Which are the most common colors used on a map?
While a variety of colorants were used in coloring maps, the most available colorants produced shades of green, red, yellow and blue. It is no coincidence that the most common colors found in basic modern maps echo the colors produced by these pigments – cyan, magenta, yellow and blue.
