How to install QGIS on Ubuntu?

2.3. Installation in Ubuntu Linux¶

  1. Open a terminal and type: sudo apt-get update.
  2. Press Enter and type the user password;
  3. Type in a terminal: sudo apt-get install qgis python-matplotlib python-scipy.
  4. Press Enter and wait until the software is downloaded and installed.


How to install QGIS LTR in Ubuntu?

To edit the sources.list file, use the following command:

  1. sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list Copy.
  2. sudo apt-key adv –keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com –recv-key 3FF5FFCAD71472C4 Copy.
  3. sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install qgis python-qgis qgis-plugin-grass Copy.


Where is QGIS installed on Linux?

/usr/lib/qgis

The location is /usr/lib/qgis . In there you have the ‘plugins’ directory, if you need to add a plugin manually.
