How do I add Google satellite to XYZ tiles in QGIS?

Add Google Maps to QGIS 3

  1. Right click on XYZ Tiles and choose New Connection.
  2. In the XYZ Connection window, enter a name, like Google Maps, and then enter the URL “https://mt1.google.com/vt/lyrs=r&x={x}&y={y}&z={z}”.
  3. Click the OK button, and Google Maps is added to your XYZ Tiles list.
