Minimum hardware requirements To use ArcGIS ProArcGIS ProArcGIS Pro is a full-featured professional desktop GIS application from Esri. With ArcGIS Pro, you can explore, visualize, and analyze data; create 2D maps and 3D scenes; and share your work to ArcGIS Online or your ArcGIS Enterprise portal.

Can I run ArcGIS on a Mac?

ArcGIS Pro 2.4 and higher can be run on a Mac with macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or higher and Parallels 15 or higher. The current release of Parallels is version 17. (You will also need a copy of Windows to install in your Parallels virtual machine, see below.)

Is Mac good for GIS?

Yes, you can use ArcGIS with Macintosh products. Just not with Apple’s operating system. I recommend installing windows on you Mac if you want to run ArcGIS on it.

How much RAM do you need to run ArcGIS?

A minimum of 16 GB of memory/RAM is recommended for Insights in ArcGIS Enterprise deployments. This recommendation is higher than the 8 GB requirement for ArcGIS Enterprise.

What computer specs do I need for ArcGIS?

RAM Minimum 4 GB of RAM; 8 GB or more is strongly recommended. Maintenance > System, look for Installed memory (RAM). Disk Space At least 6 GB of disk space on Windows boot disk for ArcGIS Pro software. An additional 5-10 GB for the GIS data you will receive and generate in the course computer work.

Can ArcGIS run on M1 Mac?

Apple’s recently released computers with the M1 chip are not designed to run or support Windows at this time. If you have a mac with an M1 chip, you will not be able to install ArcGIS Pro on your computer.
 

Does ArcGIS use GPU or CPU?

Running ArcGIS Pro requires the use of a GPU. Making the best use of a resource such as a GPU involves scalability when sharing GPU functionality. This is where the GPU profiles come into play.
