Lowa Innox EVO II GTX: Light, Fast, and Ready for Anything? My Take

Review

Okay, real talk: finding the perfect hiking shoe is like searching for a unicorn. I spend a good chunk of my free time hitting the trails, so I’m always on the hunt for something that can keep up. I need something light enough for those quick jaunts, but tough enough to handle some serious elevation. Enter the Lowa Innox EVO II GTX. On paper, at least, they sound pretty darn good. Let’s dive in, shall we?

Right off the bat, the “light and fast” motto is intriguing. The synthetic upper and Gore-Tex membrane? Music to my ears! That combo usually means breathability, which is a huge deal. Trust me, there’s nothing worse than feeling like your feet are swimming in a swamp halfway up a mountain. Seriously, I’ve had hikes ruined by that.

So, what are we working with here?

  • Synthetic Upper & Gore-Tex: Basically, they’re aiming for a shoe that won’t weigh you down and will keep your feet dry if you happen to splash in a puddle or two. Gore-Tex has a solid rep, so fingers crossed.
  • Enduro Evo II Sole: The sole is where the rubber meets the trail, literally. I’d need to get these puppies on some rocks and dirt to really give you the lowdown, but a good sole is non-negotiable for grip.
  • LOWA DynaPU Cushioning: Ah, cushioning. My feet sing at the thought! Lowa’s promising noticeable cushioning with every step. After a long day of hiking, my feet are usually screaming, so this is a major selling point.
  • LOWA Monowrap Frame: I’m a bit clumsy, not gonna lie. Stability is key for me, especially on those uneven trails where one wrong step can lead to a faceplant. This Monowrap frame is supposed to provide extra support, which sounds like a lifesaver.

Now, before you get too excited, there are a couple of things that gave me pause.

  • “No featured offers available”: This is a bit of a head-scratcher. Does it mean they’re hard to find? Are the current deals not up to snuff? It’s something to keep in mind.
  • Shaft height: Knöchelhoch: Ankle-high…hmm. Personally, I sometimes prefer a bit more ankle support, especially on rougher terrain. It’s a matter of personal preference, really.

The Verdict (So Far):

The Lowa Innox EVO II GTX could be a winner for hikers who want something light, waterproof, and comfortable. The features check a lot of boxes. But that “no featured offers available” thing is a little weird, and the ankle height might not be for everyone.

Would I actually buy them? Maybe! I’d definitely do some more digging, read a bunch of reviews, and ideally try them on before taking the plunge. A good hiking shoe is an investment, and you want to make sure it’s the right one for your adventures.
