King’s Camo Mountain Top 2200: A Hunter’s Daypack That Works Hard
ReviewYou know, I spend practically every fall and winter weekend out in the woods. That means I’m always hunting (pun intended!) for gear that can really take a beating. This year, the King’s Camo Mountain Top 2200 Backpack caught my eye, and after putting it through its paces, I’m ready to give you the lowdown.
Right off the bat, this pack feels tough, but it’s not going to weigh you down. The KC Ultra camo? Spot on. It blends right into the forests where I do most of my hunting. And let me tell you, that 2200 cubic inches of space? It’s legit. I can easily pack everything I need for a full day, and then some.
But here’s what really sold me: that integrated drop-out bow/rifle attachment system. I’m a rifle hunter, and keeping my rifle secure is always top of mind. This system? It’s gold. Just last month, I was out deer hunting, navigating some seriously gnarly terrain, and my rifle stayed put, ready when I needed it. No slipping, no sliding, just solid security.
Out in the field, this pack just works. There are three compartments for organization, a spot for your water bladder, and even padded side pockets i. And those padded protection wings? Perfect for keeping my expensive optics safe. But seriously, the back support is a game-changer i. You know how some packs leave you with a swampy back? Not this one. It actually lets your back breathe.
King’s Camo also brags about a stowaway canvas pack shelf for hauling meat i. Now, I haven’t had the pleasure of packing out a deer or elk with it yet (fingers crossed!), but I did use it to lug a load of firewood back to camp. It handled it like a champ. And that ripstop fabric? Seems like it can take a beating, plus it shrugged off a light rain shower like it was nothing.
Okay, so it’s not perfect. A couple of minor things bugged me. That hydration bladder hose clip? Could be stronger. It popped off a couple of times when I was bushwhacking. And yeah, at 6.25 lbs, it’s not the lightest pack out there. But honestly, for what you get – the features, the durability – it’s a fair trade.
Bottom line? The King’s Camo Mountain Top 2200 Backpack is a winner if you’re a hunter looking for a reliable daypack. That weapon attachment, the comfy back, the storage space… it all adds up. Sure, there are a couple of tiny downsides, but trust me, the good stuff way outweighs the bad. Seriously, if you’re shopping for a new hunting pack, give this one a good, hard look. You won’t regret it.
