  1. In ArcGIS Pro, open a project and navigate to the Insert tab, and click New Map > New Map.
  2. Repeat Step 1 to create a second map.
  3. Input the same data in both of the maps.
  4. Name the maps differently to distinguish one from the other.

 

Can one create a layout made up of several maps in ArcMap?

Answer. ArcMap does not have the functionality to host multiple layouts within the same map document. Multiple data frames can be added but reside on the original layout.

Right-click the map frame to link with the main map frame, and select Properties. In the Element pane, under Display Options, select Linked map frame scale from the Constraint drop-down list. For Map frame, select the main map frame with the scale that derives the map series pages.
