2.3. Installation in Ubuntu Linux¶
- Open a terminal and type: sudo apt-get update.
- Press Enter and type the user password;
- Type in a terminal: sudo apt-get install qgis python-matplotlib python-scipy.
- Press Enter and wait until the software is downloaded and installed.

QGIS tools run based on C++ and not Python, as MrXsquared and marcelo pointed me out. Still, you don’t need to know any programming language to use the tools.
