How do I mask an area in ArcGIS?

To mask a layer, follow these steps:

  1. Choose one or more layers to be masked in the Contents pane.
  2. On the Feature Layer tab, in the Drawing group, click Masking .
  3. On the drop-down menu, check one or more layers in the list. The layers with check marks mask the selected layer.
