How to install PostGIS in PostgreSQL on Windows?

For a Windows install:

  1. Go to the Windows PostgreSQL download page.
  2. Select the latest version of PostgreSQL and save the installer to disk.
  3. Run the installer and accept the defaults.
  4. Find and run the “StackBuilder” program that was installed with the database.

  1. Option 1 – Install on Ubuntu. Optional – Check Compatibility.

  4. Load the Extension.
