Do we get world grid with date and time of visit of Sentinel 1 and Sentinel 2?

Hiking & Activities

What is the revisit time of Sentinel-2?

The revisit frequency of each single SENTINEL-2 satellite is 10 days and the combined constellation revisit is 5 days. The spatial resolution of an instrument is the at-ground representation of an individual detector in a satellite sensor array.

Where can I get Sentinel 1 data?

The Copernicus Open Access Hub (previously known as Sentinels Scientific Data Hub) provides complete, free and open access to Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, Sentinel-3 and Sentinel-5P user products, starting from the In-Orbit Commissioning Review (IOCR).

Is Sentinel-2 data free?

All Sentinel-2 data are freely available from the Copernicus Open Access Hub. Users can download the data via https://scihub.copernicus.eu/.

What does Sentinel-2 measure?

As well as monitoring plant growth, Sentinel-2 is used to map changes in land cover and to monitor the world’s forests. It also provides information on pollution in lakes and coastal waters. Images of floods, volcanic eruptions and landslides contribute to disaster mapping and help humanitarian relief efforts.

Which band is red in Sentinel-2?

Sentinel-2 carries the Multispectral Imager (MSI). This sensor delivers 13 spectral bands ranging from 10 to 60-meter pixel size. Its blue (B2), green (B3), red (B4), and near-infrared (B8) channels have a 10-meter resolution.

Is Sentinel 1 still active?

Sentinel-1C and 1D are in development with Sentinel-1C set for launch in April 2023.

Sentinel-1.

Operator European Space Agency
Applications Land and sea monitoring, natural disasters mapping, sea ice observations, ships detection
Specifications
Spacecraft type Satellite
Constellation Active: 1

What is the difference between Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2?

The first Sentinel-1 satellite was launched in April 2014. The objective of Sentinel-2 is land monitoring, and the mission will be composed of two polar-orbiting satellites providing high-resolution optical imagery. Vegetation, soil and coastal areas are among the monitoring objectives.

What is the difference between Sentinel-1A and Sentinel 1B?

Both Sentinel-1A and Sentinel-1B share the same orbit plane with a 180° orbital phasing difference. With both satellites operating, the repeat cycle is six days. In particular for interferometry, Sentinel-1 requires stringent orbit control.

How many bands does Sentinel-1 have?

single C-band

SENTINEL-1 carries a single C-band synthetic aperture radar instrument operating at a centre frequency of 5.405 GHz.

How often does Sentinel-2 update?

The Sentinel-2 mission is providing global coverage of Earth’s land surface every 10 days with the first spacecraft, reducing to every 5 days once both are in orbit.

How can I know when Sentinel-2 passes over a location?

To see the passage of the satellite over a defined location you must specify the coordinates using “SET YOUR LOCATION” and click “PREDICT PASSES” in the bottom menu. 5 Day Predictions table for all of the satellite passes for your location will appear at the end of the page.

How many Sentinel-2 satellites are there?

two

The Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission comprises a constellation of two polar-orbiting satellites placed in the same sun-synchronous orbit, phased at 180° to each other.
