Method
- Ensure that DEM and 2d_zsh line layer files are opened, and the Point Sampling Tool plugin has been installed (Plugins >> Manage and Install Plugins >> Point Sampling Tool)
- Convert line vertices to points, using the preferred method described in the QGIS Convert Lines to Points page.
- Open the Point Sampling Tool.

- Check ‘Propagate NULLs’ if you have NoData in your rasters.
- Select average.

The function get_raster_area is used to calculate the total area of the raster. This is achieved by getting the total area of each cell and then multiply by the number of cells in the coverage raster. The function get_area calculates the total area of each color range by using the NumPy.

- Open the algorithm.
- Choose srtm_41_19 as the Elevation layer.

How is DEM elevation calculated?
The Elevation Point From DEM tool adds elevation points where you click on the map. The template used with the tool is the point layer that contains the elevation value field. This elevation value is automatically calculated from the raster when the point is created on the map.

To determine the elevation at a point, choose the Identify tool and click at the point. When you first click on the DEM, the Identify dialogue box will appear and you should choose the layer from which you wish to identify elevation.

- Go to Raster menu >> Extraction >> Contours.
- In the Contour window: enter your parameters: eg. 50 meter interval, save to file as a shapefile, geopackage, dxf, etc.

Note:
- Start ArcMap.
- Load the DEMs files you want to filter.
- Load data in the map if necessary.
- On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Contouring.
- Click the Create Contours button.
- If necessary, type a value in the Base Contour text box.
- Type a value in the Contour Interval text box.
