Burton Highshot X Step On: Step-On and Rip!
ReviewAlright, snowboard fanatics, gather ’round! Let’s chew the fat about the Burton Highshot X Step On boots. I’ve been practically drooling over these bad boys since I first caught a glimpse of them last spring. And now that I’ve finally strapped in? Let me tell you, they live up to the hype.

For those of you who don’t know my story, I’m a snowboard lifer. I mostly stick to tearing up the whole mountain, but I’m always game for a little backcountry action when the snow gods are smiling. I made the switch to Step On a few years back, and honestly, there’s no going back. The sheer convenience? Unbeatable – especially on those face-shot kinda days when you’re battling your buddies to be first in line.
First Impressions That Matter:
Right out of the box, the Highshot X screams sleek. That classic Burton black is always a winner, and the build quality just feels bomber. Spotting that Dual-Zone BOA system was like seeing an old friend; I’m a sucker for being able to dial in the fit just so in different parts of the boot. Sliding my feet in? Instant comfort. Seriously, the Imprint 3 liner feels like a hug for your feet, and I can already tell it’s gonna mold perfectly after a few days carving.
Taking ‘Em For A Spin:
I’ve clocked about five days on these boots now, through everything from bulletproof groomers to ankle-deep powder stashes. The first thing that smacked me in the face was the responsiveness. These boots are definitely stiffer than my old faithfuls, and that translates to serious power to the board. Whether I was laying down trenches on the corduroy or threading the needle through tight trees, I felt totally locked in.
That Dual-Zone BOA? Total game-changer, folks. I like to crank down the lower zone for that locked-in heel hold, but keep the upper zone a little looser for some freestyle flavor when I’m feeling playful. Being able to tweak those on the fly is pure gold.
And the Step On system? Still ridiculously convenient. Say goodbye to fumbling with straps while everyone else is already heading up the lift! Just stomp in, click, and you’re off to the races. The connection feels rock-solid, with zero slop.
